Our Founder, Mr Rich
Yorkville Music School was founded to provide families with a structured, dependable approach to private music education — one centered on consistency, focus, and long-term progress.
I am a professional musician, composer, and producer with decades of experience across performance, recording, and education at some of the most prolific companies involved with music. That background informs the standards of this school, but the mission is simple:
to teach students well.

Instruction at Yorkville Music School is intentionally structured. Students work within a consistent weekly schedule, develop strong fundamentals, and build confidence gradually over time. Lessons are individualized, while expectations remain clear, steady, and appropriate for each student’s stage of development.

Through this process, students don’t just learn music. They learn how to focus, how to work through difficulty, and how to make steady progress toward a goal — skills that support growth in school and beyond the lesson room.

I am married to Yelena Ku, a professional wedding photographer, and together we are parents to two college-aged sons. As a parent, I understand the importance of structure, reliability, and clear expectations — and the value of long-term commitments that support a child’s growth over time.

For families, this means clarity and consistency.

Students receive a reserved weekly lesson time and a thoughtful instructional path. Parents can expect professional communication, a calm learning environment, and an emphasis on steady, meaningful progress.

Yorkville Music School serves families who value structure, consistency, and thoughtful long-term development.
